Hop Scotch is a very
deep-bodied doe, with outstanding angularity and dairy character.
Although she could be more smoothly blended she has
outstanding feet and legs, wide, flat open ribbing, and tremendous depth
of body. Her udder may have the broadest area of attachment of any in
our herd, with a perfectly smooth foreudder that goes on forever.
On her last one-day milk test she did 4.1 pounds.
Hop
Scotch is not a prolific doe, having had primarily twins and singles all
her life, but has produced some very nice offspring along the way. Her son, Riptide,
has proved his worth both in the show ring and as a herd sire, with many
of his sons and daughters beginning successful show careers. She
also has a lovely daughter named Catalina who
earned her junior leg and freshened with a lovely udder. We finally
kept a daughter for ourselves - see Harmonica.
Hop
Scotch is now 11 years old and still very sound and strong on her feet
and legs.
We
lost HopScotch on November 17, 2006, at 11 years old due to kidding
complications. She was a great old girl and will be missed.
