As
Sunshine approached 11 years old it finally occurred to me that with all
she has accomplished in her life: finishing her permanent championship
in both AGS and ADGA, winning AGS National Champion at 10 years old,
earning two Best in Show wins, appraising Excellent at 11 years old, and
still maintaining near perfect feet and legs and a high, tightly
attached udder, that I should really keep a herd sire out of her! Meteor is very long,
stretchy, tight-shouldered, great feet and legs, and tops it off with
his surprising random black and white coloring and a sweet as sugar temperament.
Meteor is the sire of Ladies
Maid and Maid of Honor.

Ginseng brings back in one of favorite old herdsire lines, Goodwood
Weisbaden for dairy and breed character, combined with show quality,
productive mammaries and longevity. Ginseng's dam, Paprika, returned to
the show ring as a 9 year old after a long hiatus and promptly went GCH
in 4 out of 5 rings she showed in, and a Best in Show! She is extremely
sound after 9 lactations and her udder is still held up high, tight
and wide to her body, with excellent texture. Ginseng's first kid crop are very
dairy and stylish.

I went to
Pecan Hollow farm to pick up Safari (below), and Eclipse's dam caught
my eye so much I just could not go away without one of her boys.
Constantine is an extremely long-bodied, elegant and correct doe
with a snugly attached udder with good MSL and large well placed teats.
Safari combines many of the most influential "oldies but
goodies" in the breed, including 2 x AGS National Champion winners
Goodwood Tom Thumb and Raha Acres Twink's Pixie, National Champions
Water Lily and Good Day Sunshine, and multi-champion and producers
Nonpareil, Bay Watch and Gothika. His paternal half-sister is our gorgeous Rockin'
Robin. Eclipse should be an udder buck as
well as passing on the outstanding general appearance and dairy
character that is deep behind him.
April 2010 update: Congrats to Gary and Sandra on their back-to-back
GCH wins with Eclipse's dam, Constantine, at the very competitive Cibolo
Show. This should finish her in AGS and ADGA and well deserved!

ADGA Linear Appraisal 2010:
+V+ FS81 (Good Plus)
This is the kid I went to Pecan Hollow to get initially.
I have long admired his dam Savannah, who was the 2004 NDGA National
Champion Senior Doe. Now deceased, she was a small doe, and very correct with a near ideal
mammary system with excellent MSL and teat placement. Savannah traces back to one of
our favorite does, Yuletidetreasure, who we lost to cancer several years ago.
I'm glad to bring that line back in. Safari bears a strong resemblance
to his dam and looks like he's going to be
a very small buck, so he may become our "downsizer" as well as
giving us the udder characteristics that are important to us.

AGS Show Record: 1 x
GCH Buck I have been so pleased at the
way Chiaroscuro turned out in Joanne Karohl's herd, and jumped at the
opportunity to bring in a son of hers. Chiaroscuro's assets can speak
for themselves in these photos, and Rembrant's paternal granddam is
another favorite of Joanne's, the lovely finished champion Party. Lots
of milk and dairiness in this pedigree. Rembrandt himself is very dairy
and long bodied, with nice shoulders and a sweet, calm
personality. Rembrandt is bred to several does for fall
kids.

ideal rear leg set and escutcheon arch, combined with excellent dairy
character and lots of style. Gorgeous mammaries on both sides of his
pedigree. |
